Homelessness exists in Singapore.

Each year, hundreds of people lose their homes for a variety of reasons. An increase in rent. Falling out with family or threat of violence. Or crisis situations such sudden illness or losing a job.

But homelessness is not the end. With the right support and intervention, we can give them new hope to rebuild their lives and thrive again.

The mission of New Hope Community Services is to restore hope in the displaced and disadvantaged. We provide practical services such as temporary shelters, case management, counselling, life-skills training and job support. We have an annual operating budget of S$9 million and the fund raised will help to support the ongoing operating cost of our charitable programmes and services.

As part of the campaign, we are also raising awareness of the work that we do to support the displaced and disadvantaged in the societies. Series of fundraising and charitable activities:

• Appeal to corporates and foundations to give towards the campaign.
• Social media outreach during the festive (CNY) period to garner support.
• We are also spreading festive (CNY) cheers to the beneficiaries in the shelters.
• Shelter cleaning with volunteer groups to be conducted and the campaign will be shared to spread awareness of the work that New Hope does.
• Learning journeys by Medical Students are also conducted to understand our work with the homeless and to build empathy.
