On 28 Feb 2018, the NHCS Job Club organised a group of New Hope Job seekers to take part in WSG Job fair at Bedok Town Hall.  Since we had pre-registered participants with WSG, our Job seekers were able to bypass the long queue and immediately focus on interviews with more than 20 employers and more than 100 jobs on offer at the fair.

Participants had also taken part in a prep session a few days ahead to review and target suitable jobs listed by the organisers Workforce Singapore (WSG).

All participants agreed that it was an effective way to meet multiple employers at once. The NHCS Job Club plans to partner with WSG to take advantage future fairs as well.

"When we intentionally create a supportive community, no child is left behind." This forms the fundamental of New Hope Club - a Music Mentorship Program for children and youths.

Last Saturday, 10 February 2018, New Hope Club kicked off our 3rd cycle with an orientation at Temasek Poly. New Hope is grateful for the partnership with Temasek Poly where lecturers and students show our children and youths that learning can be made fun through play!

We were also treated to a music performance by Intune Music. Look out for our first performance in June!

On 2nd February, New Hope Community Services (NHCS) had its first Support Group Meeting for the year 2018 for our clients. This support group meeting revolved around the theme of health. We were grateful to have Ms Devi, Optometrist from Northern Opticians (Paragon) with us, where she shared on eye health and good eye care practices. Following that, clients and case managers gathered for small group discussions on managing our health to sustain employability. Our career coaches were there to provide guidance and assistance for the clients on any employment matters they had. The children were not left out, as they took part in health-related games and activities.
